Royal Mail Easter deliveries and collections

Deliveries and collections by Royal Mail in Coventry and Warwickshire will be changed over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

While postal services usually take place on Friday and Monday, the Bank Holidays mean serivces will not be running as usual.

Gifts, cards or usual mail sent across the Easter period could therefore be delayed and you will need to factor that in if you want parcels, packages or letters to arrive in time reports BirminghamLive.

Royal Mail said in a service update: “We deliver and collect your mail on most days of the year, including Saturdays.

“However, we don’t usually deliver or collect on bank and public holidays.”

The company said there would be no deliveries or collections in England or Wales on Good Friday, April 2, or on Easter Monday, April 5.

A similar pattern is in place in Northern Ireland for the Easter weekend.

This does at least mean that Saturday deliveries should be unaffected.

Traditionally, no post is delivered on a Sunday. However, Royal Mail has recently announced it is trying out a Sunday delivery service for parcels from major retailers, to compete with Amazon.

There are different arrangements over Easter elsewhere.

In Scotland, deliveries and collections will happen as normal on Good Friday, April 2, and Saturday, April 3, but there will be none on Easter Monday, April 5.

Post Office branches are expected to be closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday too.

Other services can also vary over the Easter weekend, including DWP benefit payment dates and supermarket opening hours.

Western celebrations of Easter 2021 this year come four weeks before Greek Orthodox Easter. Sometimes the two fall at the same time, but this year there is a huge gap between the dates.
