Royal Mail has expanded its Sunday parcel delivery service to more than 12,000 small and medium sized retailers. Previously it was only available to 75 large online retailers.
The company began trialling Sunday parcel delivery in March 2021, working with a number of retailers to test the service. Gift and cards retailer Moonpig was one of the first retailers to use the service.
Now any retailer or marketplace seller using the Royal Mail Tracked24 service will be able to provide next day delivery for items ordered on a Saturday. This will be the first time that may such smaller retailers and marketplace sellers will have been able to provide a seven-day delivery service to their online shoppers, a service customers are increasingly coming to expect.
Nick Landon, chief commercial officer at Royal Mail, said: “We all know how convenient it is to order something online that will arrive the next day. Now you can do the same when ordering from thousands of smaller online retailers using our Tracked24 service, seven days a week. This change will help thousands of businesses to offer the most convenient delivery options to their customers and to compete and grow.”
