Royal Mail Group to offer Novuna sal-sac scheme to 120,000+ employees

Royal Mail Group has appointed Novuna Vehicle Solutions to provide its 120,000+ employees with access to electric vehicles, creating one of the largest company car salary sacrifice schemes in the UK.

Jon Lawes, managing director at Novuna Vehicle Solutions

The initiative will provide employees with a cost-effective and flexible way to access both new and used EVs, supporting Royal Mail’s net zero by 2040 commitment.

Royal Mail chose Novuna for its experience in managing company car and mixed vehicle fleets, with longstanding customers such as Amey and Defra also transitioning their company car fleets.

Employees will have access to a tailor-made EV Hub, providing guidance on making the switch to electric, and a new internal ordering portal, with vehicle benefits including bespoke insurance provided by Howden Insurance UK.

Staff will also have the option to choose different smart chargers for installation at their homes, included in their vehicle monthly contract and further supporting the EV transition.

Novuna Vehicle Solutions will also include used vehicles as part of the end-to-end decarbonisation leasing options, delivering Royal Mail employees with a cost-effective way to make the switch to electric vehicles.

The appointment follows a series of recent new partnerships for Novuna Vehicle Solutions, including Wickes, Saint-Gobain UK and Quooker.

Jon Lawes, managing director at the business leasing specialist, said: “This appointment is a recognition of our ability to deliver a comprehensive salary sacrifice solution at scale. We are committed to providing innovative and accessible solutions that enable organisations like Royal Mail to achieve their sustainability goals while empowering their employees.

“As the urgency of the transition towards sustainable transportation grows, offering accessible options for employees is vital to accelerate the pathway to net zero. This programme is a testament to our shared vision of low-emission mobility, and we look forward to collaborating with Royal Mail to further enhance electric and low-emission vehicle accessibility for all employees.”
