  • Members of the royal family welcome letters from the public and even list the addresses that people can use on their website.
  • King Charles and Kate Middleton have received many letters of support after announcing their cancer diagnoses and expressed their gratitude.
  • The website for the royal family provides some guidelines for people who want to send letters or cards.

After revealing their cancer diagnoses, Kate Middleton and King Charles have received lots of well wishes from their supporters.

Kate and King Charles expressed their gratitude in statements and public messages, and some people who sent letters to them even got royal replies.

A user on X shared that they sent a card to Kate after the announcement of her abdominal surgery in January, and received a reply from Kensington Palace, according to People.

The note said:

“Thank you for your kind well wishes to Her Royal Highness. The Princess of Wales. Your thoughtful gesture is very much appreciated.”

The user sent their message to the following address:

HRH The Princess of Wales

Clarence House

London SW1A 1BA United Kingdom

Another address for sending letters to the Prince and Princess of Wales is:

Kensington Palace

London W8 4PU

The royal family is open to receiving letters from the public.

“The king is shown almost all of his correspondence on a daily basis by one of his private secretaries, and he takes a keen interest in the letters he receives,” the royal family’s website said.

“If you wish to write a formal letter, you can open with ‘Sir’ and close the letter with the form ‘I have the honour to be, Sir, Your Majesty’s humble and obedient servant’,” the website stated.

“This traditional approach is by no means obligatory. You should feel free to write in whatever style you feel comfortable,” the site added.

The correspondence team does not accept any unsolicited gifts sent to King Charles.

“As a constitutional Monarch, His Majesty does not intervene in any political or personal disputes, and letters asking him to do so will receive a standard reply to this effect,” the website said.

The address for writing to the king is:

His Majesty The King

Buckingham Palace

London SW1A 1AA

The Royal Family posted a video in February on their X account of King Charles reading letters of well wishes.

After the announcement of the king’s cancer diagnosis, the correspondence team received more than 7000 letters from around the world, according to the video.

“Such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement,” a quote from the king read in the video.
