Royal mail intercept ‘suspicious parcel’ containing drugs hidden with cold and flu tablets

Royal Mail have intercepted a ‘suspicious parcel’ containing containing illegal drugs hidden with cold and flu tablets in Poole. Dorset Police collected the parcel and are now investigating its recipient.

Poole Police posted an image of its contents on social media, showing a quanity of Class B drug, cannabis, alongside a box of cold and flu capsules. A spokesperson said the address the item was sent to is now “of interest” to the force, and Royal Mail.

The statement read: “Royal mail have intercepted a suspicious Parcel. Poole Neighbourhood Policing Team collected the parcel. The parcel contained Drugs. We are now investigating this. Cannabis is a class B drug meaning it is illegal to possess.

“Anyone found with the drug could be imprisoned for up to five years while supplying it can be punished with 14 year jail sentence or an unlimited fine. Importation offences carry a far greater penalty. The address this item was sent to is now of interest to both Royal Mail and Dorset Police”.
