If you’re someone who enjoys the outdoor life then the Royal Mail has some vacancies which could literally be up your street.
The postal service is searching for staff for postal delivery drivers, as well as mail sorters and customer service advisors, across many different areas of the county and offering different hours.
In Exeter city centre it is recruiting for a postal delivery driver to start immediately at a rate of £9.41 per hour. The job description says the applicant will be loading up their vehicle in the morning and completing delivery’s door to door for a well-known respectable courier service.

The advertised hours are Monday to Saturday from noon to 6pm. It adds driving and walking positions are available.
For those looking for part-time hours, Sunday postal delivery drivers are being sought in areas such as Exmouth, Totnes, Plymouth and Torquay.
The pay is £18.58 per hour covering four to eight hour shifts, with eight hour guarantees paid.
Casual mail sorters are being sought in Exeter.
The advert states: “This role is physically demanding and can involve working unsociable hours depending on the demand. We’re looking for individuals that are flexible in their working approach as on occasion you may be asked to stay on after the proposed end time or start earlier.”
A Royal Mail fleet apprentice heavy vehicle technician, based in Exeter. The three-year programme, starting September 2022, has a starting salary of £13,129 to £20,063, depending on age and location, rising each year of the programme and on completion of the programme.
The salary on completion is a minimum of £27,801 per year.

For those who want to be self-employed, they may be interested in the role of Parcelforce self-employed owner driver. The working hours are Monday to Sunday, circa £45,000 pa.
Riyal Mail states: “As a self-employed driver owner, you would be in charge of your own business, while being backed by the world’s largest delivery network.
“We promise to promptly prepare and pay your invoices weekly, accommodate your preferred route wherever possible and give you up-to-date tools for the role, including our latest delivery technology.
