Royal Mail issues fresh warning to 4 Welsh postcodes over delivery delays — full list

Royal Mail has updated its alerts to warn that 105 UK postcodes may see delays to post this week, with a number of those being in Wales.

Royal Mail has issued fresh alerts cautioning postcodes in Wales that deliveries may be disrupted this week. The postal operator has flagged delays impacting both letters and parcels.

The service ordinarily strives to reach every address six days per week. However, disruptions have resulted in some mail failing to arrive as scheduled.

Only last week, Royal Mail alerted 146 UK postcodes about hold-ups in their localities. The notification covered 10 areas in Wales, including Barry, Aberdare and Pontypridd.

Throughout the weekend, Royal Mail’s air and road operations ran according to plan. However, not all mail was processed or dispatched on schedule at their Nottingham Mail Centre, reports the Mirror.

Royal Mail said: “Some mail posted in the DE and NG postcode areas on Friday, for delivery in other parts of the UK on Saturday.”

The postal operator refreshes their website daily to highlight affected regions. As of Monday 16 February, three delivery offices in Wales have recorded delays impacting four postcode areas.

Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.

“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”
