Royal Mail has announced delays will hit 88 postcodes in fresh chaos for UK households. Royal Mail has apologised after 88 postcodes are confirmed to be at risk of delays.
The delays are attributed to two mail centres working behind expected schedule. Both Chelmsford Mail Centre and Norwich Mail Centre only managed to post “some” of the expected mail in their possession.
Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.”

Royal Mail delivered Christmas letters and parcels late to about 16 million people, according to research by Citizens Advice.
Ofcom also lowered Royal Mail’s headline delivery targets as part of the changes to the USO, which mean that from next month it is only required to deliver 90% of first-class mail within one working day (instead of 93%), and 95% of second-class mail within three days (instead of 98.5%).
