Royal Mail issues warning to 20 UK postcodes as they face delays this weekend – full list

The delivery firm is facing delays across 20 UK postcodes this weekend as people won’t receive their mail on time

Royal Mail has warned anyone living in 20 UK postcodes that they won’t receive their mail on time. The delivery firm aims to post parcels and letters six days a week.

However, it has faced setbacks in certain areas. Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.

“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”

It added: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.” This weekend, there’s delays across 10 delivery offices.

This is impacting 20 postcode areas in the UK, including in Scotland, Yorkshire, Oxfordshire and Northumberland.

Earlier this week, 44 UK postcodes were affected by delays across 18 delivery offices.

These included Cardiff, Pontefract, Lochgelly and Lisburn. Royal Mail’s air network has ran to schedule earlier in the week, but the road network saw some issues.

On Tuesday, it explained: “Last night a vehicle was late departing the Midlands Parcel Hub for Preston and Glasgow Mail Centres.

“As a result, some mail due for delivery in the BB, FY, LA, PR, G, KA, ML and PA postcode areas may be arrive later than planned.”

Royal Mail regularly updates its service status to inform customers of delays. It said weekend delivery and collection services are expected to take place on Saturday, 28 February and parcel deliveries on Sunday, 1 March.

Customers are able to collect items at most of the Customer Service Points.
