As the role is customer facing they are looking for someone with an upbeat attitude and a great temperament. You also have to be motivated to get outside come rain or shine as the post has to be delivered.
The average salary can depend on how many hours you’re contracted to do. For Devon, current postperson jobs generally advertise at £12.29 per hour but you are paid 1.25 times the normal rate if you work overtime. Many of the roles include driving elements and want someone who has a full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
There are currently postperson vacancies in Paignton, Sidmouth, Exmouth, Torquay, Tiverton, Cullompton, Newton Abbot, Barnstaple and plenty more across the border in Cornwall. These jobs are advertised on the Royal Mail website and you can apply there too.
