Royal Mail launches new way to send parcels

Royal Mail has launched a new service allowing its customers to drop off parcels at convenience stores across the UK through the Collect+ network. This development follows the announcement of a multi-year partnership in February this year.

With more than 700 locations already operational in various shops such as Londis and independent newsagents, the service is set to expand to 5,000 stores by the summer. Customers can now drop off parcels of any size using first and second class, as well as Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 services, writes Neil Shaw.

This option is available for both returns and items with pre-paid postage labels or QR codes. The service will later allow customers to collect online purchases too.

Nick Landon, chief commercial officer at Royal Mail, said: “By giving our customers access to the Collect+ network, we are significantly increasing the number of locations where they can drop off parcels and giving them more options to do so during weekends and evenings. This helps us meet demand from the growing number of customers who pay for parcel postage online.

“It is one of the ways we’re continuing to make sending and receiving parcels as convenient as possible by giving customers greater choice.”
