Royal Mail letters from Santa 2020: What is the address and when is the last date to send?

Children can once again this year write a letter to Father Christmas and receive a response from the big man himself with a little help from Royal Mail.

Santa Mail was set up by Royal Mail in 1963 and has been bringing extra magic to children at Christmas ever since.

The Santa Mail team are back for 2020 helping Father Christmas reply to children’s Christmas wish lists.

With only seven weeks to go until the big day Santa’s special team at Royal Mail are gearing up to deliver the letters sent to him.

Here’s everything you need to know.

When is the last posting date to get a response from Father Christmas?

This year the last date letters can be posted to Father Christmas is Friday, December 11, 2020.

The festive period is always the busiest time of year for Royal Mail so it is advised to get your letter in early to be guaranteed a response.

Father Christmas promises all letters received before the deadline date will receive a response so long as the letter has your child’s name and address is included in the letter.

You will need to pay for postage to send the letter, however, no return fee or stamp is required for a response.

The price of a first class stamp is currently 76p and a second class stamp is 65p.

A small price to pay to see your child’s face light up when they receive a response from Mr Claus himself.

Do siblings in the same household need to send individual letters?

Siblings can include their wish lists together within the same envelope and still get an individual response.

If preferred individual letters from the same household can also be sent and will also receive an individual response.

What should I include in my letter?

Letters should be addressed to Santa/Father Christmas and must include your child’s name and address.

You could ask Father Christmas questions you might like to know about Reindeer Land or Christmas.

You can tell him about yourself, don’t forget to include whether you have been naughty or nice.

You can also include a wish list or ideas of gifts you would like to receive on Christmas Day.

As he is so busy it is best to keep letters short and sweet!
