Royal Mail lorry ‘topples over’, closing main Forest of Dean road

A main road at Littledean in the Forest of Dean has been closed after a Royal Mail lorry crashed.

The emergency services have been with the incident, which has closed the A4151 Elton Road from Littledean Jail to Elton Corner whilst the recovery of the vehicle takes place.

Police are urging motorists to seek alternate routes where possible.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire police said the accident happened at about 5.30am and involved a 7.5 tonne lorry toppling over as it went round a corner. He said nobody had been injured.

He added that the road had been closed to allow the fire service to make the vehicle safe and ensure their safety while they did so.
