Royal Mail makes big change to delivery days and it comes into force today

With lockdown measures easing and non-essential retail shops reopening from next week, Royal Mail has made a big change to its delivery services.

The UK’s postal and courier service temporarily stopped delivering letters on a Saturday in a bid to reduce the spread of Covid-19.

From May 2 letters were delivered only between Monday and Friday, although most parcels were still delivered on a Saturday.

However, as of Saturday (June 13), Royal Mail has resumed its six day service for both letters and parcels.

Postal staff will continue to follow the health and safety measures implemented at the start of lockdown.

This includes keeping two metres apart, not handing over hand-held devices for signatures and only having one person in a Royal Mail delivery vehicle at any one time.
