Royal Mail “Meow” by M&C Saatchi

Ad features Blofeld’s fluffy white cat, who is somewhat displeased when confronted with a letter bearing Royal Mail’s James Bond stamps.

A somnolent white cat lying on the wooden floor of a grand house is rudely interrupted by the clanking of the letterbox as the mail arrives. The puss hisses and meows before it is revealed that the letter, addressed to a Mr Blofeld, is adorned with several special edition Royal Mail stamps, each bearing an image of the six actors who played 007.

“Mail. Bond Mail,” reads on-screen copy aping the syntax of the not-so secret agent’s famous introductory line. “Search James Bond stamps today.” There are 30-second and 15-second versions of the ad, which will appear across broadcaster video-on-demand, online and social media.

Royal Mail has long had a marketing relationship with James Bond. Back in 2008, it created a series of stamp designs to celebrate the centenary of Bond creator Ian Fleming.
