The Royal Mail in the North of England has been praised for raising over £30,000 for the Elsie’s Story charity in Southport.
Jenni and Dave Stancombe, who run the charity in their daughter’s memory, say they are “blown away” by the support of posties in the region.
The funds have been raised through a series of initiatives over the past few months.
The fundraising shows no sign of stopping any time soon, with Southport postie Jackie Taylor preparing to take on the 100 mile Chester Ultra challenge next weekend.

Jenni and Dave Stancombe said: “The Royal Mail North region has gone above and beyond for Elsie’s Story, raising an AMAZING £30,364.
“Writing that number out truly blows us away .
“From sponsored walks, bake sales and turning the workplace pink , teams across all the offices have come together to make a difference.
“Royal Mail, your continued generosity and commitment to Elsie’s Story means so much to us.
“Thank you so much to the entire North team, you are incredible!”
Elsie’s story was launched last year in memory of Elsie Dot Stancombe, who was seven years old when she was one of three young girls killed at The Hart Space in Southport on 29th July 2024.
When they launched Elsie’s Story, her parents, Jenni and Dave Stancombe said: “We want to continue Elsie’s ‘story’; her positivity, love for others and energy of life…..
“The Trust has been established with the principle objective being to make grants to causes in Elsie’s name, the focus of which will be assistance to young people and support for others in the community and across the region.
“This will include community projects, medical care and support for individuals and families, good causes involving fun, and bringing the community together.”
“Elsie was the most caring and generous little girl and we have promised to not let this awful tragedy be in vain and creating this trust is the start of this.”
