Royal Mail parcel containing cannabis seized by police

New Forest Police recently revealed that officers had seized a Royal Mail parcel containing a ‘significant’ amount of cannabis and that an investigation has been launched.

A spokesperson for New Forest Police said: “We work closely with Royal Mail and today a parcel containing a significant amount of cannabis has been seized and investigation commenced to identify those involved.”

This information was provided in a recent crime update, which outlined other incidents they had been called to, such as thefts from shops, and incidents they dealt with on patrol.

They added that they had been dealing with several shoplifting incidents in Fordingbridge and an offender has now been identified, with statements taken and CCTV obtained to help progress the case.

Additionally, they stated that they identified two vehicles whose owners had no valid MOTs.

A spokesperson for New Forest Police added: “As always please continue to share your information as to who is stealing or dealing in the New Forest and Avon Valley areas to keep your communities safe and a big thank you to everyone who helps us target criminals.”
