Royal Mail postie is a hit with cheeky note pushed through customer’s door

Every day they plod up and down streets delivering letters and parcels to our homes so your local postal worker probably knows a thing or two about front door designs.

But one postie has gone down a storm on Facebook with his cheeky paint advice for one householder, reports PlymouthLive.

The Royal Mail has posted two photos on the social media site – one showing a black front door with patches of colour samples paints on it while the other shows a useful note that was put through the door by a postie.

It reads: “Second green up from the bottom of the door looks best.”

The postal worker couldn’t resist sharing his painting tips

The post has been liked more than 5,000 times, with the Royal Mail saying: “When you are struggling to choose a colour for your front door… your local postie will help you out!”

Many people commenting on the FB post agreed with postie’s choice, with one saying: “The posties see hundreds and thousands of doors, they know best.”

Another wrote: “I think Mr Postie should have a say as he/she has to look at the door everyday”

So, if you’re after some exterior design advice, you might want to ask your postie for some top tips!
