Royal Mail postmen deliver cheer on Newark post round

A postman has decked out his trolley to help spread Christmas cheer.

Michael Halford, of Farndon, has transformed his trolley into Santa’s sleigh in an attempt to get the town into a festive mood.

Michael has worked at the Royal Mail for nearly four years and said his inspiration behind the jolly trolley was to get smiles on the faces of those who see him.

“We make it into a bit of a competition between ourselves to see who can do it the best,” he said.

“At Farndon, where I live, I have inflatables, laser lights, and everything else at the front of the house.

“It cheers people up and everybody who sees it leaves with a smile on their face. That is what it is all about.”

Michael said the reaction had been great while on his round in Barnbygate.

He thought his sleigh was better than Phil Padgett’s, a colleague who had also decked out his trolley. “Mine is 100% better this year,” he said.
