This follows MP Kit Malthouse’s collaboration with senior executives and staff last year to enhance performance.
Mr Malthouse said: “Last year, I had visited Andover Sorting Office and met with management and posties to discuss how we could make our local postal service more reliable.
“The good news is that we have seen a marked improvement in performance and staff morale following the strengthening of the local management team and posties being given dedicated routes.”
However, he says the run-up to Christmas presents a busy period for the service.
He will observe closely to ensure that high performance is maintained.
Mr Malthouse added: “Royal Mail currently has vacancies for posties to join the team at Andover Delivery Office, and I know they have been working to introduce flexible hours in order to attract as many applications as possible.
“If you know of anyone who may be looking for a new role, please let them know.”
This initiative is part of Royal Mail’s ongoing efforts to bolster their service in Andover.
Last year, the leader of the Test Valley Borough Council, Phil North, described the postal delivery problems in Andover as ‘shocking’.
