Royal Mail reports delays in two Essex postcode areas

A daily list of delivery offices facing delays on the Royal Mail website has been updated today, which has seen the Stanford-le-Hope delivery office remain on the list and South Ockendon added.

Two south Essex postcode areas are facing delays due to this.

On its website, Royal Mail said: “Deliveries are operating as normal across the UK today. We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.

“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”

The affected postcode areas area SS17, covering Stanford-le-Hope, Corringham, Horndon on the Hill, Fobbing, Linford and Orsett, and RM15, covering South Ockendon, Aveley and Purfleet.

Anyone who needs to collect an item for which Royal Mail has left a ‘Something for You’ card should check royalmail.com/services-near-you.
