Humberside Police have issued a warning over a Royal Mail scam doing the rounds in the Hull area.
The scam involves a text message sent to potential victims telling them there is a shipping fee that needs to be paid on a package.
But if you click on the link it takes you to a fake site where any bank details or other sensitive information could be used to empty your bank account.
On Twitter, a spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “If you receive the below text message claiming to be from Royal Mail please do not click the link. This is a scam!

There are a number of scams relating to Royal Mail which all encourage recipients to go to a fake site.
These include telling you a courier or postman tried to deliver an item but you were not in, or the parcel has been delivered to the wrong address so to confirm details by clicking on a link.
Others say the customs duties were not paid, which again directs you to a fake website.
