Royal Mail seals Oswestry post box over dog waste hazard

The post-box off Middleton Road, near Plas Ffynnon Medical Centre, has been sealed off since May 11.

A sign, taped on the front of the mailbox, reads: “We’re making this temporary closure because the levels of dog fouling in front of the box are presenting a health and safety risk to both members of the public using the box and our staff collecting from it.

“We’ll return this post-box to normal service as soon as possible.”

Users of the mailbox have tried to ask others to not let their dogs conduct their business around the box by leaving signs urging them to take their dogs elsewhere – albeit with some slightly colourful language.
