Royal Mail has been experiencing delays in service for quite some time due to resourcing issues at some of its delivery offices. The postal company regularly shares delivery updates online and today’s one shared the postcodes that could face a delay in post.
“We’re working hard to deliver as comprehensive a service as possible with the resources available to support these offices. And we’re ensuring we prioritise delivery of vaccination letters.”
Royal Mail has also had to make temporary changes to the guaranteed times for its Special Delivery guaranteed by 9am to 1pm services.
Its guaranteed delivery for Special Delivery Guaranteed by 9am the next working day is by 11am the next working day while its Special Guaranteed Delivery by 1pm the next working day is by 4pm the following day.
The company also issued a scam warning to customers last week due to many currently circulating around.
Taking to Twitter to share their concerns, one customer asked Royal Mail whether or not the message they received was real or fake.
It read: “Just received this message. Is it a scam? Not expecting anything and I have been home all day.
“‘Royal Mail: ‘Sorry we missed you earlier, we have your parcel, to book a redelivery follow the link’.”
The postal company replied to the concern explaining that this was not from them.
Royal Mail said: “This isn’t something that’s been sent by us.
“Please don’t click on any URLs in the message. We’re currently investigating this with our security team.
“Further information on known scams and how to report them in future can be online.”
Other scams are in the form of emails and Royal Mail advises customers not to click on any messages or any links in text messages.
How can you report a potential scam?
Royal Mail said: “If you receive a suspicious email or discover a Royal Mail branded website which you think is fraudulent, please let us know by completing our online form.
“If you have been the victim of a payment scam, you can get a crime reference number by reporting it to your local Police station.”
