Royal Mail aims to deliver to all addresses it has mail for, six days a week.
However, due to staff sickness absences, resourcing issues, weather and other local factors, this is not always possible.
The postal service outlined how deliveries will operate over the weekend, including the UK areas most affected by delays.
For areas adversely affected, Royal Mail has pledged to do what it can to mitigate delays.
Royal Mail stated: “In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”
The postal service apologised for any inconvenience caused to customers, explaining that it would keep them updated on the most impacted UK areas.
Customers who need to collect an item for which a ‘Something for You’ card was left should check royalmail.com/services-near-you for information on Royal Mail’s Customer Service Point locations and opening hours.

Regarding international deliveries, Royal Mail explained that following the restoration of Royal Mail International export services, delivery of international items may take slightly longer than usual.
Customers using International Tracked services may notice different tracking information as items leave the UK, and they may experience some delays too.

Customers sending items requiring a customs declaration (such as goods or gifts) internationally are asked to purchase postage online rather than using stamps or metres.
