Royal Mail shares latest postal days – including which 19 UK areas are most impacted

Today Royal Mail gave customers an update on the ongoing postal delays across the country. The postal service explained that in some local offices, customers may expect delays due to issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing or other local factors. Weather conditions including snowfall, ice and flooding can also cause disruption to postal deliveries.

Royal Mail told customers on Monday March 27, 2023: “Following the restoration of Royal Mail International export services, delivery of international items may take slightly longer than usual.

“Customers using International Tracked services may notice different tracking information as items leave the UK.

“We are seeing delays to some tracking events in a small number of destinations.

“As we continue to work with our partners to resolve this, if you cannot see tracking information for your items it is likely to be available on the overseas’ posts tracking websites.”

Royal Mail continued: “Customers sending items requiring a customs declaration (such as goods or gifts) internationally are asked to purchase postage online, through shipping solutions or over the counter at Post Office branches rather than using stamps or meters.”

The postal service apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused by delays.

In an update over the weekend, Royal Mail shared that their air, rail and road networks were operated to schedule.
