Royal Mail shares which UK area it will not deliver to or collect from tomorrow

Royal Mail aims to deliver to all addresses it has mail for, six days a week.

However, this is not always possible due to high levels of staff sickness absences, resourcing issues, poor weather conditions and local issues.

Public and local holidays also affect when mail is collected and delivered.

Royal Mail’s official website reads: “We deliver and collect your mail on most days of the year, including Saturdays. However, we don’t usually deliver or collect on public or local holidays.”

The postal service added that local holidays are subject to change.

Royal Mail customers can consult Royal Mail’s service updates at https://www.royalmail.com/service-update for information on public and local holidays.

In England and Wales there will be no bank or local holidays this weekend.

In Northern Ireland there will be no bank or local holidays this weekend, however there will be a bank holiday on Wednesday July 12 and a non-service day on Thursday July 13.

This means that on both days there will be no collections or deliveries taking place.

On Saturday July 8 there will be a local holiday in Scotland which means no collections or deliveries in the TD8 postcode area.

As for today, Friday July 7, Royal Mail gave a service update regarding the movement of mail through its network.

In the last 24 hours, Royal Mail’s air, rail and road networks operated to schedule. However, there was a disruption to one mail centre.

Royal Mail stated: “The mail centre below reported not all mail was processed or despatched to schedule over the past 24 hours. As a result, some mail may be delivered later than planned.

“Chelmsford: Some mail posted yesterday in other parts of the UK, due for delivery today in the CM, CO and SS postcode areas.”
