Royal Mail Strikes: Trains, Nurses, Royal Mail: Full List of strikes planned ahead of Christmas in UK

Amid soaring inflation, several professions and industries have announced strikes. The inflation in the country has led to clashes over pay rates and pensions. From roadways to the airways, from hospitals to emergency services, everyone is going to be affected by the upcoming strikes.

Nurse

The Royal College of Nursing has announced its strike dates. The members from England, Wales and Northern Ireland will strike on December 15 and 20. The union is demanding a 5 per cent pay rise amid inflation.

Trains

Members of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) have also decided to go for strike. According to the bosses who have decided to cut jobs, the railways have not recovered from the pandemic. The system needs modernisation.

Health services

Ambulance technicians and paramedics working for the ambulance will also be on strike. The union is demanding a pay rise and a staff raise. They have warned that unless these demands are met, services will continue to decline.

Aim to prevent strikes

According to RMT general secretary Mick Lynch, the offer does not meet the criteria for securing a long-term settlement on job security, a decent pay increase, and protecting working conditions for employees.
The RMT union has announced that it has rejected a proposal from train operators aimed at preventing strikes over the Christmas period, the union has announced.
