It sounds like the set-up to a joke, but a letter address to a ‘sexy wife’ managed to make its way to the Bishop of Worcester.
The envelop read: “The Lord Bishop and his sexy wife, Worcester.”
And remarkably, it was delivered to its intended recipient, John Inge, Bishop of Worcester, – with the second-class stamp not even franked.

An image of the address was shared by the bishop on Twitter. He added: “Good old Royal Mail. This arrived safely yesterday.”
The tweet has since amassed over 10,000 likes and over 1,000 retweets.
One person replied to the post and said: “That’s hilarious. From a friend presumably.”
Bishop Inge replied: “From someone wise and discerning.”
Another person added: “There used to be a postman who came into our local pub. His party trick was to tell you your address if you told him your name. All sorts of people came up to him in the bar and he never failed. Posties are a great source of local knowledge.”
One Twitter user joked: “Does he have…more than one wife, hence the necessary qualifier?”
The bishop is yet to reveal what was enclosed in the letter.
