In recent days, there have been reports in the UK of a shortage of lateral flow and PCR home test kits.
And now in a bid to avoid any more shortages, the Royal Mail are set to double the number of coronavirus home tests that will be available to the public after Boris Johnson revealed there will be 900,000 home tests a day available from Saturday (December 18), reports Wales Online.
The news comes days after shortages were experienced in Glasgow with lateral flow home test kits being unavailable on the UK Government website, despite Scots being urged to get tested for covid amid a surge in omicron cases.
The Government website said that there were no more home tests available and individuals should “try again later” or to book a test site appointment instead.
