Royal Mail UK warning: Delivery update shared as delays hit the UK – latest advice

Royal Mail has been affected by the impacts of the coronavirus crisis and snow and icy weather conditions. The company has shared an update on the areas which could be experiencing delays.

“We’re sorry that some addresses may experience disruption as a result of snow and ice, particularly in parts of Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Kent.”

With snowy weather predicted to continue, some Britons could still be hit with delays from the post service.

It also explained “resourcing issues” could cause some delays across the country.

“Deliveries may also be disrupted in some areas due to resourcing issues in a number of our delivery offices,” the statement added.

DON’T MISS

“We’re working hard to deliver as comprehensive a service as possible to all our customers during these challenging times.”

The current coronavirus restrictions mean non-essential stores are closed and Britons should continue to stay home as much as possible.

With more people turning to online shopping, this has caused a strain on Royal Mail.

The statement added: “Every single parcel and letter is important to us.

Royal Mail released a list of postcodes believed to be affected by delays earlier this month.

The list included Barking (IG11), Burslem (ST6), Caernarfon DO (LL54, LL55), Chatham (ME4, ME5), Chingford DO (E4), Croydon (CR0, CR9) and Debden (IG7-IG10).

Enfield DO (EN1-3), Erdington DO (B24), Grays DO (RM16-RM20), Harwich DO (CO12), Maida Hill DO (W9), South Croydon DO (CR0, CR2) and Tamworth DO (B77-B79).

The postal service stated those postcodes would possibly be hit by delays last week.

Royal Mail will often update its website with the latest changes and delays across the UK.
