Royal Mail warn of delivery delays in Warrington

ROYAL Mail has warned that some Warrington residents may be affected by delivery delays.

The warning was issued on their website which claimed some of the town’s postcodes, WA1 to WA2, WA4 to WA5, will be affected.

The notice reads: “Deliveries are operating as normal across most of the country today.

“We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“In a small number of local offices this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as COVID-related self-isolation, high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.

“In those cases we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”

The postal service apologised for the inconvenience and thanked customers for their understanding.

A similar warning was issued to Warrington residents earlier this week.

The news also follows complaints made by people in the town about the slow service experience from Royal Mail.

One Warrington customer said: “Absolutely rubbish service. People missing hospital appointments.”

Another said: “It has never been this bad. I do understand the current situation but come on Royal mail. I have been waiting on a parcel for a week now.”

A Royal Mail spokesman previously told the Warrington Guardian: “In some areas in Warrington, we are experiencing some disruption to service due to sickness absence and resourcing issues which we are addressing as quickly as possible.

“We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“If resourcing issues, associated self-isolation and safety measures prevent this, we’ll deliver at least every other day.

“We apologise to customers for any inconvenience they may experience as we work hard to resolve the situation.”
