Royal Mail is warning customers to send their post by certain dates, to make sure it reaches their loved ones in time for Christmas.
The postal giant wants people to ” beat the festive rush and get all your letters and parcels in the post on time”.
“Ongoing Covid restrictions “, it says, as well as “reduced air and freight capacity, high volumes and winter weather conditions” are all “impacting transportation and local delivery across the globe”.

Where possible, customers are asked to post their cards and presents well in advance to make sure they are safely delivered in plenty of time.
The warning comes after people from different parts of Merseyside have bemoaned having to “collect their own post”, after not receiving letters and other mail for as long as “two weeks”.
A Royal Mail statement issued in October said: “We are currently experiencing some disruption to service with higher than expected absence levels due to colleagues being off sick.
“We are looking to restore our high service levels as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience.”
