Royal Mail has issued a warning that delivery delays are affecting 146 UK postcodes
Royal Mail has issued a warning to residents in specific postcodes that the delivery of letters and parcels is experiencing delays. The postal behemoth typically aims to deliver to every address six days a week.
However, the company has conceded that some regions across the UK are finding it challenging to uphold this level of service due to factors such as “high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors”.
Royal Mail stated: “In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.”
This disruption is affecting several Yorkshire areas.
There are currently 146 postcodes throughout the UK facing disruptions to their deliveries. Of these, 16 are in Yorkshire. There are also 24 located in the North East, reports Chronicle Live.

The delivery firm further commented: “We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”
Apologising for any inconvenience caused, it added: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”
The company updates its list of affected postcodes on its website daily, according to the Express.
Royal Mail assures that its air and road transport operations continue to function as usual. The firm also maintains that all mail was processed and dispatched as planned at distribution centres over the past 24 hours.
At present, 55 delivery offices are grappling with delays, causing a knock-on effect on postcodes within those areas.
