Royal Mail warns Yorkshire postcodes won’t receive mail on time — full list

Royal Mail has confirmed delivery delays affecting 44 UK postcodes due to staff shortages and resourcing issues at 18 delivery offices

Royal Mail has cautioned residents in certain UK postcodes that their post will not arrive on time, including in Yorkshire. The delivery company strives to deliver letters and parcels six days a week.

However, it has confirmed there are delays across its network that will impact specific areas. Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.

“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”

The company updates customers daily on issues that may hold up deliveries. As of Tuesday, February 24, 18 Royal Mail delivery offices are experiencing delays, reports the Mirror.

These are spread right across the UK, including Cardiff, Pontefract, Lochgelly and Lisburn. Disruption at these delivery offices means 44 UK postcodes are currently experiencing delays to their post.

Postcodes in Beverley and Pontefract are affected by the delays.

Its air network ran to schedule over the past 24 hours, though the road network encountered some difficulties. Royal Mail explained: “Last night, a vehicle was late departing the Midlands Parcel Hub for Preston and Glasgow Mail Centres.

“As a result, some mail due for delivery in the BB, FY, LA, PR, G, KA, ML and PA postcode areas may arrive later than planned.”

Bristol Mail Centre experienced disruption affecting post sent from sections of the BA, BS, GL and TA postcode areas, which was destined for delivery throughout other regions of the UK.
