Royal Mail has won a five-year contract for the collection and delivery of passports and supporting documents for HM Passport Office. It will also handle a range of other important documents, including UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) travel documents.

In addition, the contract includes the delivery of internal mail between HM Passport Office offices and other UK government offices. Royal Mail will also be working with the General Register Office on the collection and delivery of birth, marriage and death certificates from and to local government registration services.
