The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has said that its members will stage six more strikes in December, including on Christmas Eve. In a long-running dispute over pay and service conditions, the Royal Mail workers will hold strikes on December 9, 11, 14, 15, 23, and 24.

The workers will also be staging four strikes before these newly announced six dates. The union members would walk out on November 24, 25, and 30 and December 1 as well.

While announcing the dates of strikes, the CWU stated that it wanted to settle this issue with negotiations, but officials concerned must realise that the union would not allow them to “destroy” postal workers’ livelihoods. The CWU said that the company registered millions of profit, but only a 2% pay deal had been imposed when inflation had soared to 11.1%.
