Christmas is almost upon us – and so is Royal Mail’s postal deadline.

Royal Mail has issued its recommended postal dates for Christmas 2019 – and their second class and second class signed for is only days away.

If you’re yet to post your Christmas cards and parcels, and you’re wanting to save a couple of pence on postage, then you best get yourself down to the Post Office this week.

Royal Mail’s recommended posting dates:

  • Wednesday, December 18 – 2nd Class and 2nd Class Signed for
  • Friday, December 20 – 1st Class and 1st Class Signed for and Royal Mail Tracked 48*
  • Saturday, December 21 – Royal Mail Tracked 24*
  • Monday, December 23 – Special Delivery Guaranteed

*Royal Mail Tracked 24 and Royal Mail Tracked 48 services are unavailable to purchase at Post Office branches

  • Monday, December 16 – Normal deliveries and collections
  • Tuesday, December 17 – Normal deliveries and collections
  • Wednesday, December 18 – Normal deliveries and collections
  • Thursday, December 19 – Normal deliveries and collections
  • Friday, December 20 – Normal deliveries and collections
  • Saturday, December 21 – Normal deliveries and Saturday collections
  • Sunday, December 22 – No deliveries or collections
  • Monday, December 23 – Normal deliveries and collections

 

Christmas Eve to New Year’s Eve (December 24 to December 31)

  • Tuesday, December 24 (Christmas Eve) – Normal Deliveries, Christmas collections
  • Wednesday, December 25 (Christmas Day) – No deliveries or collections
  • Thursday, December 26 (Boxing Day) – No deliveries or collections
  • Friday, December 27 – Normal deliveries and collections
  • Saturday, December 28 – Normal deliveries and Saturday collections
  • Sunday, December 29 – No deliveries or collections
  • Monday, December 30 – Normal deliveries and collections
  • Tuesday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve) – Normal Deliveries, New Year’s collections

January 2020 (January 1 to January 3)

  • Wednesday, January 1 (New Year’s Day) – No deliveries or collections
  • Thursday, January 2  (Bank Holiday in Scotland) – Normal deliveries and collections (except Scotland where there will be no deliveries or collections)
  • Friday, January 3 – Normal deliveries and collections in all areas
