Royal Navy ship berths in Greenwich for Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

A Royal Navy ship has berthed at a port in Greenwich for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The ship, known as Mounts Bay, will host a variety of events until tomorrow (June 6).

Some events include hosting tours and welcoming guests from across the UK and Commonwealth.

100 school children will also be aboard for The Big Jubilee Lunch, according to the Royal Navy.

The commanding officer, Captain James Wingrove RFA, said: “It is a huge privilege for my ship’s company to have the opportunity to represent the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and RFA Mounts Bay in the capital during this historic occasion.

“We are looking forward to hosting numerous events to commemorate the Queens Platinum Jubilee.

“And also to celebrate the service she has given our country and the Commonwealth over the 70-years of her reign.”
