The flag was flying proudly on a rain-soaked day at the town’s Memorial Gardens to mark Trafalgar Day.

The Rev John Morley, chaplain for Market Harborough Royal Naval Association, secretary Pat Middleton and member Valerie Marsdon raised the white ensign to mark and celebrate the Royal Navy’s victory – Admiral Nelson’s greatest triumph – over the French and Spanish fleets at the Battle of Trafalgar on October 21, 1805.
