Sarah Ferguson sends a photo to a royal well-wisher

Sarah Ferguson has shared an unseen family photo, taken in the grounds of the Queen’s Scottish estate.

The snap shows Fergie, 60, and ex-husband Prince Andrew, 60, posing with daughters Princess Beatrice, 31, and Princess Eugenie, 29, on a set of steps outside Balmoral Castle, in Aberdeenshire. It is not known when the photo was taken.

The photo was sent to German royal fan Kris, of Instagram account royal_replies_by_kris, alongside a thoughtful letter and a copy of the York family Christmas card.

The letter, typed by a member of staff on Fergie’s monogrammed paper, reads: ‘On behalf of Sarah, Duchess of York, thank you so much for your letter.

‘The Duchess always enjoys receiving personal correspondence and reading your kind words. We take pleasure in sending you a signed photograph along with the Duchess’ best wishes.’

Writing in a post yesterday, Kris explained she had received the bumper royal bundle in response to a Christmas card she sent the Duchess last year.

‘I have to say I love the card,’ she wrote. ‘It‘s bigger than the last Christmas ones and also the Family picture I got wow wow wow it‘s so beautiful [sic].’

It was sent with the York family Christmas card, pictured, which features two images that are a thinly-veiled reference to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal that has engulfed Prince Andrew. The York family Christmas card, first made public shortly before Christmas, features two images that are a thinly-veiled reference to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal that has engulfed Prince Andrew in recent months.

The implication could not be any clearer – we are a family and we stand together, no matter what. Pictured, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew at Royal Ascot in June 2019

The message of unity followed Andrew’s disastrous interview with the BBC in November in which he tried to clear his name over the Jeffrey Epstein sex scandal.

He subsequently stepped back from royal duties and has remained out of the spotlight ever since.
