Saunderton crash leaves man and woman in hospital with ‘serious injuries’ including broken ribs

Two people were left seriously injured after a crash in Saunderton, near Princes Risborough, earlier this month (August 19) on the A4010. The crash, which involved a silver Volkswagen Passat and a white Hyundai i10, happened at around 12.20am in the morning, with the two people in the Hyundai taken to hospital immediately.

The female in the car has been reported to have suffered “several breaks to her back” and is still in hospital at this time, while the man suffered broken ribs and has been discharged.

Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses and anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward. A spokesperson for the force said: “Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following a serious injury road traffic collision in Saunderton, near Princes Risborough.”

They continued: “At approximately 12.20am on Saturday (19/8), a silver Volkswagen Passat and a white Hyundai i10 were involved in a collision on the A4010 Wycombe Road, Saunderton. Two people, who were in the Hyundai, sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

“A female sustained several breaks to her back while a man suffered broken ribs. The female remains in hospital at this time, and the male has been discharged.”

Investigating officer PC Richard Lunn of the Roads Policing Unit, based at Amersham, said: “I am appealing to anybody who was driving in the area and captured the collision, or the moments leading up to it, on dash-cam or mobile phones to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police. “Similarly, if you witnessed the collision, or have any information that can assist this investigation, please get in touch.”
