A group of schoolboys were injured following an horrific crash on their prom night, it has been reported.
The Year 11 pupils, who are believed to be from Stepney All Saints School, had hired a £187,000 Lamborghini Urus to arrive to the event in style.
However, shortly after 7pm on Tuesday (11 July) night, the sports car crashed into a Royal Mail van while travelling through Beckton in East London.
Footage from the collision showed the blue Lambo driving along Royal Dock Road when it suddenly pulls out into the opposite lane.
However, as it attempts to move back into the right side of the road, it smashes into the red van.
Following the horrendous collision, emergency services raced to the scene, with six ambulance crews, two paramedics and a Hazardous Area Response Team responding, the London Ambulance Service confirmed.
Footage shared on social media from the aftermath of the crash shows the two cars almost completely crushed.
Six people were treated for injuries, with the Lamborghini driver said to be in his twenties and the Royal Mail driver in his forties.
Luckily, the authorities have said that none of those involved are in a ‘life-threatening condition’.
According to The Mirror, an email was sent round to parents of the school to inform them of what had happened.
The message, which was seen by the publication, read: “Our staff have been in contact with the families of those students who were involved as passengers of the vehicle.
“I can confirm that although there are some injuries to our students, thankfully there are no fatalities.
“This has been confirmed to me this morning by the Metropolitan Police.
“Prayers are with those students and their families – we wish them a speedy recovery.”
A spokesperson for the Met Police told LADbible: “Police were called at 19:22hrs on Tuesday, 11 July to reports of a collision involving a car and a van in Royal Dock Road, Beckton.
“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
“Six people were taken to hospital where their injuries were assessed as not life-threatening.
“There have been no arrests and enquiries are ongoing.
“The driver of the Lamborghini was a man in his 20s. The driver of the van was a man in his 40s.”
