Six people were injured after a £187,000 Lamborghini taking a group of schoolboys to their prom smashed into a Royal Mail van, it is understood.
Police raced to the collision on a road in Beckton, East London at around 7.20pm on Tuesday.
Emergency services also attended, including the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
Footage shared on social media captured the supercar appearing to lose control before crashing into the van, leaving debris scattered across the road.
It is believed that some of those involved in the crash were Year 11 pupils from Stepney All Saints School, who had hired the Lamborghini Urus to take them to their end-of-year prom.
The teenagers were travelling as passengers in the supercar, which was being driven by a man in his 20s.
An email from the school’s headteacher to parents, seen by the Mirror, reads: “You may be aware of a car accident that took place yesterday evening involving some of our students.

“Our staff have been in contact with the families of those students who were involved as passengers of the vehicle.
“I can confirm that although there are some injuries to our students, thankfully there are no fatalities. This has been confirmed to me this morning by the Metropolitan Police.
“Prayers are with those students and their families. We wish them a speedy recovery.
“We ask any students who are distressed due to this situation to speak to their tutor in the first instance or for Year 11 students in particular, to contact school directly via their Head of Year.”
