Senate Republicans Block Democrats’ Economic Stimulus Package (Bloomberg)

Sept. 26 (Bloomberg) — Senate Republicans blocked a $56 billion plan that Democrats said would stimulate the economy by expanding unemployment assistance, food stamps and heating assistance to the poor.
