Drugs worth almost £40,000 have been recovered in Lerwick – thanks to help from a trained sniffer dog.
Shetland officers, alongside specialist teams from the Aberdeen Operational Support Unit and Dogs Against Drugs, carried out a routine search at the Royal Mail sorting office on Monday.
Police dog Bravo indicated to a package, within which was herbal matter believed to be cannabis as well as suspected cannabis vapes.
Their combined value is estimated to be worth £38,345.
Chief Inspector Chris Sewell said: “We are determined to protect Shetland by disrupting the supply and distribution of harmful substances, preventing them being circulated in our community and addressing the concerns of local people.
“We will continue to take action against those involved in such criminality and will fully investigate all reports.
