ShipStation, one of the world’s most popular and leading cloud-based ecommerce shipping platforms, has added UPS to its carrier services platform in the UK.
Through this new partnership, UK-based merchants and marketplace sellers on the ShipStation platform will now have access to UPS’s domestic and international shipping services at discounted rates.
This makes it easier for online retailers to scale their delivery operations while saving on shipping costs and growing their sales.
ShipStation said the new integration is quick and easy to set up, giving merchants more choice and transparency when it comes to shipping.
In addition, online merchants and marketplace sellers can now ship to a growing network of nearly 35,000 UPS Access Point locations across Europe, offering added delivery flexibility and convenience to their customers.
The best news for ShipStation users is there is no volume commitment to using the new UPS integration and delivery options.
“Small and medium-sized businesses are the heart of the global economy, and we’re always looking for ways to make ecommerce easier for them — especially when it comes to cross-border trade,” said Dana Nino, Vice-President of Marketing at UPS.
“We’re excited to work with ShipStation to bring our shipping services to more UK businesses. Having easy access to UPS’s flexible, reliable shipping options at discounted rates will help them achieve their business goals and thrive in the world of global ecommerce.”
“At a time when it’s more important than ever for small and medium-sized businesses to save on costs, we’re delighted to be expanding our relationship with UPS to the UK market,” added Mike Hayers, General Manager Europe at ShipStation.
“Businesses on our platform can directly access UPS’s affordable rates on our carrier services platform to ship with the utmost ease to wherever they need to in the world.
“By removing the complexities and inflexibilities often associated with delivery management and instead giving greater choice and control when it comes to shipping, we’re enabling our merchants to focus more on the most essential part of their business, the end-consumer.”
This new integration comes during a time when many online businesses wonder about the future of Royal Mail.
After the massive backlogs of parcels during the holiday season due to nationwide postal worker strikes, online merchants and sellers have become disillusioned with the UK’s mail service operator.
By having access to another shipping solution — one that offers fast and reliable tracking in addition to more delivery options — the new UPS partnership with ShipStation could be a potential solution for sellers to diversify their carrier portfolio without having to commit to volume targets.
