Shocking moment lorry driver almost loses control of his HGV

This is the shocking moment a lorry driver suddenly swerves over to the opposite side of the road after losing control of their vehicle.

The dash-cam footage, which was captured in Coalville, Leicestershire, on the A512 near Bardon, shows the HGV driver suddenly veer off course after passing a bend on the road.

Unable to stop the lorry, the driver swerves across the road and almost ploughs into the hedges before managing to regain control of the vehicle.

The lorry loses control after passing a bend in the road at around 8pm on June 25

The incident took place at around 8pm on June 25. 

During the clip, the lorry driver appears to lose control after passing a slight bend along the road.

The vehicle then makes a sharp swerve to the right-hand lane before making its way  back to the left-hand lane and scraping the hedges on the side of the road. 

Witness Tim Ellett, 42, a manager at a printing company in Leicestershire, had been driving home when he saw the shocking event unfold. 

The lorry driver manages to regain control of the vehicle and contines along the busy road

He said: ‘I was heading back home from my niece’s birthday party when I saw the van behind me in my rear view mirror. 

‘I thought it was going to be horrific as it swerved straight onto the opposite side of the road as the driver tried to control the HGV.

‘I am thankful no other vehicles were passing at that point.

‘The driver didn’t stop and just continued.’
