Shrewsbury postman named Postie of the Year

A Shrewsbury postman has spoken of his pride after he won the “unbelievable” Postie of the Year award.

Richard Kesterton collected his prize at the inaugural Heart of Royal Mail Awards, after 25 years of service.

A Royal Mail spokesperson said the Shropshire postman had “consistently demonstrated Royal Mail’s core values”.

Speaking at the awards, Mr Kesterton said: “It’s really special. I’m still very shocked to be named Postie of the Year.”
