Sir Elton John is being honoured by Royal Mail

Elton John is the first living artist to receive the commemoration.

You know you’ve made it when your face features on a stamp, which is exactly what has happened to Sir Elton John.


Elton has sold more than 300 million records, won an Oscar and been given a knighthood, and now he’s set to receive the ultimate stamp of approval – from the Royal Mail.

He’ll be featured on a new set of postage stamps to mark his 50 years in show business, highlighting eight album covers chosen by Elton himself, including Rocket Man, Goodbye Yellow Bring Road and Candle in the Wind.


Sir Elton is the second solo artist to ever get the official nod from the Royal Mail. (David Bowie was the first).
